1956

Born in Spain

Ricardo Jimenez was born in 1956 in Spain and  moved to the US when he was an infant. He was a member of the FALN who received a sentence of 90 years for seditious conspiracy and other charges.

1971

Chossen as Chicago's Senior School Students Of The Year

Jimenez chose by the mayor as the Chicago’s Senior High School Students of the Year while he was in Tuley High School in Chicago. He was also the Vice-
President of the Senior Class, a member of the National Honor Society and a member of Aspira.

1980

Arrested in Evanston

Jimenez including other 11 people was arrested in Evanston, by claiming their involvement in more than 100 bombing to achieve independence for Puerto Rico. Luckily no one injured or died of bombings.

1981

Released earlier from Prison

Ricardo was sentenced and incarcerated in a U.S federal prison. However, he was released from the prison, on the behalf of the President Bill Clinton, extended a clemency offer.  

2011

Started Working as HIV/AIDS Support Agency

Jimenez started working as an HIV/AIDS counselor for the Latino HIV/AIDS support agency, Vida/SIDA, which is a project of the Puerto Rican Culture Center.

Ricardo Jimenez is a graduate of Loyola University where he was a member of Latin American Student Organization. Later he joined Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and selected to represent as the student body at a national conference.

Jimenez served as a volunteer at a drug rehabilitation center, “EI Rancor” and on a project on housing, under the plan,  “Chicago 21 Plan”, to turn the Puerto Rican community into high-income or high-class society.

Ricardo Jimenez also joined FALN, which was a Stalinist group which fought during the 1970s to transform Puerto Rico into a communist state. During the time Jimenez and 11 other were arrested in Evanston, Illinois because they were on the link to more than 100 bomb explosion for the achievement of independence for Puerto Rico. But fortunately, none of their bombings ended with death or injuries.

According to the source, there are reports of human rights violations against the FALN prisoners. At the time of their arrest, the group declared themselves to be combatants in an anti-colonial war against the USA to liberate Puerto from the US. Jimenez released from prison after President Bill Clinton extended him clemency.
