Ricardo Jimenez is a graduate of Loyola University where he was a member of Latin American Student Organization. Later he joined Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and selected to represent as the student body at a national conference.
Jimenez served as a volunteer at a drug rehabilitation center, “EI Rancor” and on a project on housing, under the plan, “Chicago 21 Plan”, to turn the Puerto Rican community into high-income or high-class society.
Ricardo Jimenez also joined FALN, which was a Stalinist group which fought during the 1970s to transform Puerto Rico into a communist state. During the time Jimenez and 11 other were arrested in Evanston, Illinois because they were on the link to more than 100 bomb explosion for the achievement of independence for Puerto Rico. But fortunately, none of their bombings ended with death or injuries.
According to the source, there are reports of human rights violations against the FALN prisoners. At the time of their arrest, the group declared themselves to be combatants in an anti-colonial war against the USA to liberate Puerto from the US. Jimenez released from prison after President Bill Clinton extended him clemency.
