Stedman Graham Jr. is the sixth children of his family and has a height of 6.6 ft. He attended Hardin-Simmons University, from where he earned the bachelors degree in social work in 1974. After that, he joined Ball State University, where he completed his masters degree in 1979. While he was studying at Hardin-Simmons, he was on the college basketball team. 

After completing his high education, Graham went to High Point, North Carolina to establish a good relationship with the public. He worked with numbers of distinguished clients like author Maya Angelou and South African activist Winnie Mandela at B & C Associates organization. 

Graham is the owner of Chicago, Illinois's AAD, a non-profit organization, which provides services to youth and has awarded over $1.5 million scholarships since its foundation in 1985. It also helps the youth sports figures to educate substance abuse. He has also created a Chicago-based corporate and educational marketing and consulting firm called S. Graham & Associates.

He has an affair with boyfriend, Oprah Winfrey, a businesswoman, speaker, and author. Winfrey didn't marry her boyfriend Graham. He married his long-term girlfriend, Glenda Graham, after dating her for sometimes.
