Tamika Devonne Catching Smith, 38, is a retired American basketball player. She played 15 years for the Indiana Fever of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Tamika was born in New Jersey. She finished her high school from Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas. There she was named WBCA All-American as she participated in WBCA high school All-America game and scored dozens of points. And even after her high school, she was also able to earn herself a name, Naismith College Player of the Year award.

Later on, she became the part of 1997–98 Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball team, coached by Pat Summit. The team is considered to be one of the greatest teams in the history of U.S women’s college basketball.

Tamika was named WNBA Rookie of the Year while averaging 18.6 ppg, immediately making an impact on the Fever roster in her first year as a pro. Even in the rookie season, she managed 9 steals with a tie in WNBA record. In the year 2005, Tamika was able to score her 2,000 points in WNBA becoming the fastest player to score 2,000 points in WNBA career.

She was not only able to get the fastest 2000 points but was also able to do fastest 1,000 rebounds, 400 assists, and 300 steals. Later that year, she was named WNBA defensive player of the year. She was given the same title again in the year 2006, 2009, and 2010.

In 2006, she was not able to play 2006 WNBA All-Star game even though she was highest voted because of her foot injury. Five years later, she was voted one of the Top 15 players in the fifteen-year history of the WNBA.

During the year 2011, Tamika was able to win WNBA Most Valuable Player while averaging 15.5 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 3.5 apg and 2.0 spg. She was the one to lead the Fever to a 21–13 record, topping the Eastern Conference Standings. Later that year, her playoffs were poorly offensive. And they ended up losing with the team Atlanta Dream.
