Alia Shawkat's personal life and secret tattoo

Alia Shawkat was born in California, United States to mother Dina and father actor Tony Shawkat. Born and raised in California her family originally belongs from Iraq, Baghdad.  Alia carried Iraq ethnicity from her father side and Irish and Norwegian ethnicity from her mother's side.

Alia Shawkat has two brothers of her own who reside with her in the States. And talking about her personal interest Alia is very much interested in arts. She is a brilliant painter who has also participated in gallery shows in a different part of the world like Paris, Los Angeles and even in Mexico City. Furthermore, she also makes music and sings in Jazz bars.

And how can we forget about her tattoo, Alia has a tattoo on her tight forearm of a little doodle that looks like an acorn inside a triangle. She also has inked on both of her arms which are of the 'mister jones' who is an animated character. And we guess the last one which is another doodle on her left shoulder. 

Alia Shawkat's relationship so far

Talking about her love relationship till now she has been in emotionally attached with two men. She first had a love affair with Jack Antonoff for a year and after that, she was with Micheal Angarano for another one year. Now she seems to be single as she hasn’t been spotted with any other co-star or any male.

Alia Shawkat and Jack Antonoff started their relationship in January 2009. Jack Antonoff is an American songwriter, musician, and also a singer who is best known for his band Bleachers. Alia and Jack stayed in the relationship for a year and got separated in January of 2010.

After her break-up with Jack Antonoff, she quickly jumped into a relationship with Michael Angarano. Michael the famous American actor and Alia had their love affair for around one year and ten months as they dated from January 2010 to November 2011. Michael before has been with Mary Winstead and Kristen Stewart and now he is dating Juno Temple since 2012.

Is Alia Shawkat single? What about the rumour of being gay?

Alia is probably single these days and seems like she wants to give her career a better time. There is no news of her having boyfriend or even have a romantic link up with any other male. Currently, she is busy filming for her television series Arrested Development and Search Party. But recently there was also the news of Alia having a coffee date with Andrew Garfield.
