After Ashton's marriage with Russel, she became an overnight sensation and became recognized as the gorgeous wife of the NFL player, Russell Wilson. However, after two years of their marital relationship, their relation took an unexpected turn as in April 2014, Wilson filed a divorce against his wife. The reason behind this was the rumors of Meem's extramarital relationship with the former Seahawks player Golden Tate. So, was the rumor true or the relationship became a victim of false rumors?

I did not have an affair with Russell Wilson’s wife, nor did I have anything to do with his divorce. That is laughable for anyone who knows us.

His ex-wife, Ashton, is still best friends with my girlfriend. Russell and I were good friends when I was in Seattle, on and off the field? He knows the rumors about me were unfounded, damaging to my reputation, and an attack on my character.

Although the story was ultimately denied, Russell and Ashton got divorced in 2014. A sad ending for one of the promising couples.

Soon after the divorce with Ashton, Russell's affair news with an American singer Ciara came into the limelight in 2015. After months of dating, the couple got engaged on March 11, 2016, followed by their wedding on July 6, 2016, at the Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England.
