The pair started dating back in 2011 after they met in Puerto Rico. The duo was neither married nor engaged when they welcomed their first child into the world. 

Their first child, Poppy's second, daughter Violet Grace, was born on 22nd April 2013, and she is currently 9 years old.

The following year, during her appearance on Live! With Kelly and Michael, she announced that she and her hubby got married to each other on 19th February 2014, in Disneyland, in the presence of their children.

Likewise, just a few months later, the duo welcomed their second child into the world. Baby boy Gus Monroe was born on 11th November 2018 and is 4 years old at present.

As of 2018, it has been four years since Poppy and Sanford tied the knot and their marriage seems to be heading forward very smoothly. There are no rumors about them splitting or getting a divorce which is terrific. 

Poppy Montgomery's Previous Relationship: Children and Split

Before Stanford, Poppy was in a relationship with her former beau Adam Kaufman, who is also an actor. The duo appeared in three movies together as an on-screen couple.

They first met on the sets of Between in Mexico, and they started dating soon in 2004. Three years into their relationship, Poppy revealed that she was pregnant and was expecting her first child with her husband Kaufman.

Their son Jackson Phillip was born on 23rd December 2007 and is currently 15 years old.

Despite the new addition to their family, their relationship soon went downhill without any signs of marriage. They broke up seven years after being in a relationship in 2011. 

Despite her unfortunate past love affair, currently, she is in a very loving marriage with her husband, Shawn Sanford.
