DONNA BRAZILE’S PERSONAL LIFE

Born as Donna Lease Brazile on December 15, 1959, to a family of eight siblings, Donna describes herself as a typical southern girl. Brought up in a working-poor family, Donna has seen hardships from early in her life.

All of her siblings are married now and she has 15 nephews and nieces whom she loves as much as she would love her own. She loves spending time with those kids. And she is also very close to the rest of her family. Donna believes that the close bond of her family has been sustained throughout all the hardships because of their ability to make the best out of every possible bad situation. Her family is very supportive of her life choices and they are one of the major reasons that she doesn’t feel lonely being unmarried at her age.

CAREER OF DONNA BRAZILE

From the age of 9, Donna showcased her interest in politics. At the age of 9, she began campaigning (successfully) for the candidate who had promised to make a playground in her neighborhood. The day after Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, she committed her heart and her future to political and social activism. By the 2000 presidential election, Brazile had become a major player in American political history.

Since her little stint as a campaigner as a little girl, there has been no looking back for her. For almost four decades now, she has been a successful political strategist. She is actually the most sought-after personality in the business.

For a job that requires fundraising, divvying up resources, and partisan warriors, Donna Brazile flaunts an impressive record.

This bold and persuasive personality is also an author and commentator. Brazile is a weekly contributor and political commentator on CNN's The Situation Room. She has regularly appeared on CNN Tonight with Don Lemon and is a frequent member of Anderson Cooper's guest panel of political experts on CNN's Election Night Coverage.

She has also penned a book that is titled “Cooking with Grease”. It is a behind-the-scenes memoir of the “Life and times of a tenacious political organizer and the first African-American woman to head a major presidential campaign”.

Cooking with Grease is an intimate account of Donna's thirty years in politics. Her witty style and innovative political strategies have garnered her the respect and admiration of colleagues and adversaries alike -- she is as comfortable trading quips with Karl Rove as she is with her Democratic colleagues. She remains one of the most outspoken and forceful political activists of the present day.
