Chris Paul was born on May 6, 1985, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the father, Charles Paul, and mother, Robin Paul. His birth name was as Christopher Emmanuel Paul; he grew up in his birthplace along with his siblings. During his early age, he was in youth leagues before he began his senior career. 

Paul joined West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, where he played for junior teams in his freshman and sophomore years. During his professional career, he made 25 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.4 steals. After completing his high school, he joined Wake Forest University in 2003. 

During his freshman year for the Wake Forest University, Paul's average was 14.8 points, 5.9 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. In his second year (2004-2005), he scored 5.3 points, 6.6 assists, and 2.7 steals per game, playing 32 matches. 

In 2005, Pual's wonderful time with Wake Forest University came to an end. During NBA draft of 2005, Paul was selected 4th overall by New Orleans Hornets, Marcus Banks has also played for the same team. In his first season with New Orleans Hornets, he performed well and became the Rookie of the Year 2005.

In 2007, Paul completed the season with record 56 wins of his team Hornets with an average of 21.1 points, 11.6 assists and 2.7 steals per game, and extended his contract for one more year. During 2009-2010 season with Hornets, Paul got indulged in a bit of controversy after the team's coach Byron Scott was sacked. He was reportedly dissatisfied with his team after the dismissal of Byron Scott.  

In the same season, Paul got injured in his left knee. In the next season, Paul got another injury after he collided with Ramon Sessions and suffered a concussion. He finished the season with average 22 points, 6.7 rebounds, 11.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.

Later Paul was traded to Los Angeles Clippers on December 12, 2011. He finished the first season with the Clippers with average 19.8 points, 9.1 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. In 2013, Paul made a contract with clippers and a $107 million deal. He helped his team Los Angeles Clippers to achieve a record of 57 wins in that season.
