On February 13, 2020, Judd caught the limelight after it was revealed that she was in an ICU unit in South Africa after suffering a severe leg injury as she fell while walking the forest in Congo.

In an Instagram live interview with New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof, Ashley, from the hospital bed recalled the '55-hour' ordeal of the accident that nearly cost her a leg. Reportedly, the Double Jeopardy actress tripped over a fallen tree in the Congolese rainforest and broke her leg.

Since there were no well-equipped hospitals in Congo, she was transferred to South Africa, which took 55-hours from the jungle to the operation table.

While describing the incident, Judd clearly revealed that she is in a relationship at the moment. She told that her life partner visits Congo twice a year; for, over the years, the American actress has been on a visit to the rainforest with her beau to study the endangered bonobo population (primates).

As the 52-year-old focused on briefing the accident and her health concerns along with issues of poverty and animal protection, she didn't pay attention to identify her mysterious lover.

An active Instagram user, the actress also with notable TV works in Missing and Berlin Station, has over 449K followers on her official account @ashley_judd. However, until now, she kept her relationship status low-key following the 2013 divorce with then-husband Dario Franchitti.

After 12 years of marital relationship, Ashely and Dario, on January 29, 2013, released a statement announcing their divorce on 'mutual understanding' and finalized it legally that year. Despite the split, the now-former couple is on good terms- well, she is the godmother of her ex-husband's child.

Reportedly, after a year of the divorce, her former spouse Dario Franchitti married hedge fund executive, Eleanor Robb, in 2014. They welcomed two daughters: Sofia and Valentina.

As for Ashely Judd's own child, the $22 million net worth owner doesn't have any as she is an antinatalist.

Ashely Is A Victim Of 'Sexual Assualt'

The University of Kentucky graduate Ashley Judd told Variety in October 2015 about being the victim of 'sexual harassment' by a studio mogul but didn't name the person immediately. After the #metoomovement came forth, she identified the harassing person as Harvey Weinstein while working in the 1997 film Kissing the Girls.

Later, the actress revealed that Weinstein tried to botch her career after she rejected his proposal for physical advances; as a result, she filed a defamation and 'sexual harassment' lawsuit on April 30, 2018.

However, in response to Harvey's motion for the case dismissal, Judd's case of harassment from the former producer was dismissed by a federal judge in California but could pursue the defamation claim.
