Karen Webb Boyer is the fourth wife of late American actor, screenwriter, producer, director, singer-songwriter, and author Jerome Silberman, who is professionally famous as Gene Wilder. He died on 29 August 2016 due to Alzheimer's disease listening to his favorite song a rendition of Over the Rainbow song by Ella Fitzgerald.

Karen worked in the entertainment industry as a costume designer. Karen and her husband Gene Wilder got married a few years after his third wife Gilda Radner died. Gene was above 50 years when he married Karen and the couple was deeply in love until Gene's last breath.

In 1988, Gene was preparing for his role as a deaf man in the movie See No Evil, Hear No Evil. And Karen was a clinical supervisor for the Hard of Hearing for the New York League.

And for Gene's role, Karen helped him in lip reading and this was the first time Karen met Gene. 

Wilder talks about his and Karen's first meeting to Telegraph. He says,

She sent me all this material and I said, ‘This is so technical you must get some humor into it,’ so she came to see me with her tape recorder.

He added,

She would encourage me to improvise and, pretty soon, a script emerged. After the 5th or 6th visit I asked her if she would like to go out to dinner.

After Gene's third wife Gilda died, he eventually realized he needed to move on and live his life. However, Karen already had given up on marriages as she did not believe in marriages and stuff related.

But, after Karen met Gene and went for a few dates with him, she started to feel different and decided to tie the knot. Karen and Gene go married on 8th September 1991, in a beautiful church in the presence of all of their friends and family.

The lovely couple lived in Stamford, Connecticut, in the 1734 Colonial home where Gene and his third wife Gilda lived together.

Karen and her late husband lived in the same house until Gene died due to complications of Alzheimer's disease.

The couple always used to share their leisure time together and did not stop loving each other no matter how hard time they passed through. Gene never stopped praising his wife and thanked her for being there as he was broken by Gilda's death.
