Paula Patton was born in Los Angeles, California. Her mother, Joyce is a school teacher whereas her father Charles Patton is a lawyer. Her father is African-American and her mother is Caucasian. She completed her high school at Hamilton High School and later started studying at the University of California, Berkeley. Later, she transferred to the University of Southern California’s Film School.
Patton has also provided her vocals for Usher in her album Confessions in 2004. She has provided her astonishing voice on the song ‘Can U Handle It?’ The song was written by Robin Thicke to whom Paula once got married. Patton has written the song for several of Robin Thicke's albums.
Talking about her television career, Patton made her debut movie in the comedy film ‘Hitch’ back in 2005 featuring alongside other famous actors like Eva Mendes and Will Smith.
