Katherine Noel Brosnahan, professionally known as Kate Spade and Kate Valentine, was an Amercian Fashion Designer and a businesswoman who recently died on June 5, 2018. The reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself.
The businesswoman had earned a lot from her life and had accumulated a huge net worth whilst she was living. Her unexpected death has left the world with so many questions, as to what caused her to take her own life? and furthermore who'll inherit her overall properties?
There is a bit contradiction as to how much exactly is her net worth. Different sources have different figures as to define her total worth. As per The Richest, the total worth by her name is around $150 million.
Likewise, Celebrity Net Worth claim it to be around $200 million, but we can all assume that she was a pretty rich woman.
Kate began working as a journalist for the magazine Mademoiselle in 1986, after majoring in journalism. There she met Andy Spade, whom she married later when they were both working in Manhattan.
She quit her job in 1991, with the title of Senior Fashion Editor/Head of Accessories, hence her work in the accessories department helped her lay the foundation for what Spade would do later with her designs.
Kate founded Kate Spade & Co. in 1993 along with her husband Andy Spade.
The company mostly manufactured handbags, Kate Spade handbags, which were an ideal combination of style and affordability, bucking the trend of elite European luxury brands by making them accessible to a wider group of people. She sold all the shares of the company back in 2007.
The company firstly sold handbags, and soon extended to clothing, jewelry, shoes, stationery, eyewear, baby items, fragrances, tabletop, bedding, and gifts. In 2004 "Kate Spade at Home" was launched as a home collection brand.
It featured bedding, bath items, china, wallpaper, and various items for the home.
Currently, there are more than 140 Kate Spade stores in the U.S. alone, and more than 175 worldwide.
kate along with her business partners launched a brand called Frances Valentine in 2016. The company launched a new collection of luxury footwear and handbags.
The name Frances is derived from her paternal side while Valentine came from Spade's maternal side.
Later in 2004, Kate published three books subjecting etiquette, entertainment, and fashion—Manners, Occasions, and Style.
A housekeeper found Spade dead in her Manhattan apartment on June 5, 2018. She was reported to have suicided by hanging herself. Police have reported the presence of a note that the late businesswoman left for her daughter, Frances Beatrix Spade.
