Hilarie Burton portrayed Peyton Sawyer, a troubled, music and art-loving , beautiful cheerleader whom everyone wanted to date in WB/CW drama One Tree Hill. But after 6 years of being loved by OTH fans all over, Burton didn’t renew her contract after season 6 of the series in 2009. This had created quite an outrage among viewers and a rumor that this outcast was due to conflicts in money negotiations. But Burton responded to that issue by clarifying that the decision was based on "adults being good to each other and being kind". She further elaborated that OTH had been a fabulous experience for her and she was lucky to have been part of such an amazing crew.
Last October there was a reunion of OTH cast in Paris. Burton, Sophia Bush (who played Brooke Davis) and Bethany Joy Lenz (who played Haley James Scott) were present along with James Lafferty (who played Nathan Scott) and Paul Johansson (who played Dan Scott).
The Pepsi Smash host, with an estimated net worth of $1 million, explained that it is always a good time when she sees her OTH family because they have become close friends during the 6-year run of OTH.
Burton also revealed that she sees different actors from the cast like Tyler Hilton (who played Chris Keller) and Chad Michael Murray ( who played Lucas Scott) whenever she can in New York even after all these years and their busy schedule. She even admitted that she missed working with Murray.
Burton left OTH the same time as Chad Michael Murray (who played Lucas Scott) to move onto other projects. This diva is still going strong as an actress at the age of 33. She switched networks and spent 3 years with USA Network series White Collar as Sara Ellis. With a height of 1.71m, Burton also appeared as the sexy Dr. Lauren Boswell on ABC's show Grey’s Anatomy. She also had appearances on the short-lived show Hostage, Castle, Naughty or Nice, and Extant. In recent TV news, this hot blonde was just on ABC's new series Forever as Iona Payne, a dominatrix.
Burton was married to husband Ian Prange in 2004 but they divorced in 2009. She has since then been dating actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan and the couple has a son together.
