Samira Wiley And Lauren Morelli Are Parents To A Daughter; Their Married Life!

American actress Samira Wiley, who grabbed international attention for appearing in the Netflix comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black, has welcomed daughter George with wife Lauren Morelli.

Samira Wiley’s Sexuality; CastMate Accidently Outed Her!

Samira, who soon became fans favorite for portraying the role of Poussey Washington in Orange Is The New Black, is a role model for the LGBTQ community.

Opening upon coming out of the closet, the actress revealed that it was one of her castmates who accidentally outed her sexuality.  Opening up about the accidental event, Wiley revealed that one of her castmates mentioned her name while they were talking about gay actors in the cast. She said:

they mentioned my name, and I saw it in print, and I cried. I cried a lot.

The actress later admitted that she wished to come out of the closet when she felt ready and comfortable. She is now an outspoken advocate for the LGBTQ community.

Wiley openly talks about her sexuality, whereas her wife, Lauren, somehow loves maintaining a low-key profile.

How Are Samira Wiley and Lauren’s Married Life Going On?

To start from the beginning, Wiley, and Morelli first on the set of the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, where the latter was a lead writer, and Wiley was an actor portraying the role of Poussey Washington.

As Morelli was writing a couple of scenes for Wiley, they started spending time together to work on the scenes. When they were together, they found an immediate connection. But, during the time, the lead writer was married to a man.

However, Morelli once admitted that she immediately had a crush on Wiley right after seeing her audition tape. Similarly, Morelli also realized that she was gay while working in the show.

Soon Morelli and Wiley became friends as the actress was helping her through her feelings about sexuality.

After spending a year working on the marriage, Morelli separated and filed for divorce in September 2014. It was the same year she started dating Wiley.

After dating for a year, the duo went on a vacation to Thailand for the first time. After dating for two years, on 4th October 2016, The Sitter’ actress took her Instagram to announce that they were happily engaged. She flaunted her engagement diamond ring and captioned it, Yes.

On 25th March 2017, Wiley and Morelli tied the knot in an intimate weekend-long celebration with friends and family in Palm Springs, California. Now, they are happily married for almost four years.

On Mother’s Day, the actress shocked and surprised her fans by announcing the arrival of their first daughter. Their first child, daughter George Elizabeth, was born on 11th April 2021.

In the Instagram post, Wiley revealed that her wife Morelli went through laboring for almost three days before giving to their first kid.
