Romeo is widely known for his band, The Aventura. Romeo started this band with his cousin and two friends in the early 90s. Its early members were  Romeo Santos, Anthony Santos, Henry Santos, Lenny Santos, and Max Santos.

The band launched an album Trampa De Amor, and after its launch, the band officially changed its name to Aventura.

Romeo was the lead vocalist and the main songwriter for this American-based Bachata band. The band gained fame in the year 1999 and was recognized for their ability to blend Bachata music into hip-hop or pop.

The band gave their hit in the year 2004 with their song Obsession. Sadly the band disbanded in 2011. They later reunited in February 2016 for a series of concerts.
