Finn started his professional career appearing in the TV show The 100, playing Zoran. The show aired on March 19, 2014. This was followed by his portrayal of Jordie Pinsky in the TV show Supernatural in 2015.

In 2016, Finn joined the cast of the Netflix series Stranger Things, playing Mike Wheeler alongside David Harbour and Winona Ryder. Finn auditioned for the role via video after seeing an open casting call.
