Rose played in the NBA for six teams during his 13-year of a professional career, notably Indiana Pacers, alongside Reggie Miller.

Jalen Anthony Rose was born on 30 January 1973, to parents Jeanne Rose and Jimmy Walker. Rose's mother named him after his father's name, Hames and his uncle's name, Leonard. Rose is of American nationality. Rose grew up with four siblings.
Rose lost his father to lung cancer in July 2007. His father was the No. 1 overall draft pick in the NBA in the 1972 NBA All-Star Game.
