In 1991, he made an appearance in Blossom opposite his future co-star The Big Bang Theory co-star Mayim Bialik. He had been a cast of ABC sitcom Billy in 1990.

During his time in Billy, he made guest appearances on the hit ABC sitcom Roseanne. His character's sensitive and dorky nature captured the hearts of audiences due to which he was cast as a regular member until the end of the show.

His co-stars in the show were Sara Gilbert, Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, and Emma Kenney. He was with the show onwards of 1992 till 1997.

Aside from playing in hit shows, he has appeared in various movies such as National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Prancer, Suicide Kings, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Bookies, In Time, and Rings.
