In December 2017, Katheryn Winnick spoke to News Corp about her relationship with Alexander Ludwig, who plays her son in the series Vikings. After meeting up on the set, the two became friends, and not only in the series, their close bond worked out in real life too.

Katheryn revealed that she and Alexander are good friends and even more, they go out together for dinner and drinks too. Though, rumors of them being a couple took off, for which Katheryn explained:

Alex and I are very close friends. We hang out together, go for dinner, drinks. We have a strong bond, which really helps when you're acting. I've done shows in the past when I've had no rapport with co-stars and it's difficult.
