During an interview, the pair revealed that they first contacted each other via Instagram after Adams slid into the DM's and they hit it off very well. The main reason they hit it off so well is Harry Potter because Adams referred to her the movie franchise during his appearance on The Bachelorette. 

They started dating in 2017, and it has been almost a year since. However, they did not reveal the public about their relationship instantly. The pair took it slow when it came to announcing their romantic involvement, and it was just a few months back since they publicly spoke about it.

Just two months back on 16th May 1984, the 27-year-old shared a picture of herself and her beau hugging on her Instagram. She wished him on his birthday and also wrote 'I love you' for the first time.

Before Adams, Hyland was in quite a few relationships with other men in the industry. Her first public relationship was with American actor Max Ehrich.

The duo started dating in September of 2007 and dated for more than a year until they called it quits in October of 2008. 

Likewise, in 2009, she again started dating, and this time, her beau was with her co-star in Geek Charming, Matt Prokop. They started dating in February of 2009 and had a very stable relationship.
