A Five-time NBA All-star who has been named Rookie of the year and has won an NBA championship with Cavaliers in 2016, Kyrie Irving is one of the successful NBA players of the current generation. Since his rookie year, he played for the NBA team Cavaliers but after his 2016 games with the Cavalier, he requested to be transferred to Boston Celtics which is his current team.

Irving is considered one of the talented players of his generation, and he has the ability to back it up with good dribble hands and the ability to score from both inside and outside of the three-point line. A Star On the Rise; Irving's Career

Irving had an interest in basketball since a young age gaining inspiration from his father Drederick Irving, who was also a basketball player. In his high school years, Irving played for Montclair Kimberley Academy for his freshman and sophomore years. He later was transferred to St. Patrick High School looking for a bigger challenge. He played with Kidd-Gilchrist.

Irving was selected for the team of Junior National Select Team in 2010. He was also selected to play the 2010 Jordan Brand Classic where he was named co-MVP with Harrison Barnes. He was part of the national team which won the FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship.

2011 was the year Irving entered the 2011 NBA draft and got selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Tristan Thompson was also picked during that draft and the two signed a contract with the team. He was a growing star and was named for the 2012 Rising Stars Challenge along and was also awarded the NBA Rookie of the Year Award for the 2011-2012 NBA season.

During the 2012-2013 season, Irving injured his index finger which put him out of games for three weeks but he later returned stronger than ever and scored 40 points in the Madison Square Grade making him the youngest player in the NBA history to do so. 

Irving was the member of US national team for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup where he helped his team reach the finals and eventually win the gold medal as well. For his performance in the tournament, he was named the 2014 USA Basketball Male Athlete of the year.

In the 2015-2016 season, he along with another NBA All-Star LeBron James won the NBA Championship against Golden State Warriors which had NBA stars like Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson.

Irving also represented Team USA at the Summer Olympics helping the team win the gold medal. He became the fourth member of the Team USA to have achieved both the NBA Championship and an Olympic Gold the same year.

He was transferred to Boston Celtics, the reason for his transfer has been reported for him to be out of LeBron James shadow and be the more focal point of a team.
