Jurgen Klopp before serving as a manager was a great footballer, started his career as a junior player, playing for TuS Ergenzingen. Klopp was a striker turned defender when he represented his club Mainz 05 for 15 years. Until his retirement, for his team, he scored 52 goals.

During Jurgen's time at the University, he coached U10 formerly known as Frankfurt D-Juniors. After his retirement, he was appointed as the manager of the club Mainz 05 for which he played much during his professional career. He remained a manager for many years; during his time with the club, he led the team to participate in Bundesliga and to qualify for UEFA Cup.

In 2008, Klopp joined Borussia Dortmund. At that time, his team had players like Christian Mate Pulisi and Mario Gotze, Klopp led the side to two consecutive title wins in 2011/12, DFB Pokal in 2012, DFL Supercup in 2013/14; as well as the team second appearance in UEFA Champion League Final of 2013 edition.
